Luis Enrique

After fracturing his collarbone in a cycling accident in Spain last Friday, Luis Enrique underwent successful surgery. Initially ruled out for PSG–Lens, the Paris coach is now expected to be on the bench at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, barring any last-minute medical setback.

The club kept quiet about his condition, leaving doubts over his presence. But according to Le Parisien, the 55-year-old has already begun rehabilitation and is determined to stay close to his squad.

While questions remained about his ability to handle daily duties at the PSG Campus, Enrique is ready to grit his teeth for this Ligue 1 clash.

At one point, his assistant Rafael Pol was tipped to take charge against Lens, at least according to the Spanish press. In the end, Enrique will be back on the sidelines, even as Paris cope with the absences of Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué.

The Spaniard has received numerous messages of support, including from Luis de la Fuente, his successor with Spain’s national team. A painful setback, but not enough to keep him from guiding PSG this weekend.
