Hakimi injured by Diaz: Kompany recalls that PSG had injured Musiala

After Bayern’s victory in Paris, Vincent Kompany cautiously addressed the injury of Achraf Hakimi, who was violently tackled by Luis Diaz. The Bayern coach wanted to send a message of support to the PSG defender.

When asked at a press conference, Kompany did not try to downplay the seriousness of the incident. The Bayern coach explained that he did not think at the time that Hakimi’s injury was that serious. But upon seeing the Moroccan leave the field in tears, he immediately recalled the fracture of Jamal Musiala against PSG during a match in the United States.

“It’s unfortunate that the PSG player had to leave the field due to injury. At first, I didn’t think it was that serious. But of course, it happened, and when a player gets injured, I always think about what happened to Jamal Musiala. He broke his leg against PSG in the United States. One wonders: ‘is it comparable?’ But honestly, the most important thing for me is that Hakimi is not injured for too long. I wish him a speedy recovery,” the Belgian said at the press conference.

PSG has also caused injuries to Bayern in the past

Kompany also made a clear statement: he hopes that Hakimi’s injury will not be too lengthy but reminds that PSG has also caused injuries to Bayern in the past.

The PSG defender is set to undergo an MRI on Wednesday morning to determine the exact nature of the injury. An anxious wait for Paris… and for the Moroccan national team just weeks before the AFCON.
