Despite the reassuring words from its leaders, Bayern Munich has still not reached an agreement with Dayot Upamecano. The central defender, whose contract ends next summer, is currently closer to leaving than to extending his stay.
Dayot Upamecano is setting his terms. The player is demanding a clause for an extension. Bayern Munich wants to keep him and is pushing for a new contract lasting at least until 2030. According to Sky Germany, the sticking point is not solely financial.
Upamecano is requesting the inclusion of a release clause in his future contract, an element he considers very important. However, this request does not deter Bayern, which seems willing to consider this option to secure the player’s future.
PSG is indeed in the mix!
The situation is understandably attracting the attention of several major European clubs. Sky Germany confirms that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have already begun preliminary discussions regarding a possible transfer.
Upamecano’s future could thus become one of the major issues of the upcoming transfer window, amid Bayern’s ambitions and the growing interest from its competitors.
