The absence of Senny Mayulu upon PSG’s arrival in Doha did not go unnoticed. As the Parisian club landed in Qatar on Sunday evening to prepare for the Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo, the young midfielder was not with the group, raising a few questions.
Was Senny Mayulu left out of PSG’s squad for the Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo? Not at all. In reality, there is nothing alarming about the situation.
Medical Precaution Ahead of a Major Final
After falling ill over the weekend, Mayulu was simply granted an extra day of rest before traveling. The player ultimately joined the Paris delegation on Monday evening in Doha, just two days before the historic fixture.
Arriving with a delegation of nearly 150 people, PSG trained on Monday morning at Al Ersal with 21 players. The squad will be complete for the final training session scheduled for Tuesday evening on the pitch at Hamad Bin Ali Stadium, the venue for the final.
While his initial absence may have come as a surprise, Senny Mayulu is very much part of PSG’s plans for this trip. There was no disciplinary issue, merely a medical precaution taken ahead of a crucial appointment for the club.
