Sporting vs PSG: the probable lineup

PSG travel to Sporting CP on Tuesday night in the Champions League. On the eve of this European clash, Luis Enrique has announced his squad, already giving strong hints about the likely lineup that will take the field in Lisbon.

On the Paris side, several absences are confirmed. Lee, Ndjantou, Neves and Safonov are out injured, while Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye have been given a rest. Lucas Hernandez is suspended. With a reduced group, the coach’s options are fairly clear and should logically push him toward a starting eleven very close to the one used against Lille.

A makeshift but competitive PSG lineup

In defense, Chevalier is expected to start in goal, with a back line made up of Zaïre-Emery on the right, Marquinhos and Pacho in the center, and Nuno Mendes on the left. In midfield, the trio Mayulu, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz seems the most likely choice, as Luis Enrique has few alternatives in the selected squad.

Up front, barring any surprise, the Paris coach should trust Doué, Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia to lead the attack, with Barcola and Ramos as the main options off the bench during the match.

In this context, PSG’s probable lineup would be: Chevalier – Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes – Mayulu, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz – Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia. A solid and well-balanced eleven, built to go after an important result against a Sporting side expected to be weakened.
