PSG Keeps Two Academy Leaders Despite Internal Tensions

Despite a turbulent internal climate in recent months, Paris Saint-Germain has decided to keep Yohan Cabaye in his role as sporting director of the club’s youth academy and pre-academy. According to Le Parisien, the decision was announced Monday to all club employees during a meeting at the Campus, attended by CEO Victoriano Melero and general secretary Grégory Durand.

This clarification comes after several weeks of tension within the Parisian academy. At the end of October, the labor inspectorate visited the site before the club’s social and economic committee (CSE) launched an internal investigation.

Management Maintains Confidence Despite Internal Concerns

According to Le Parisien, the process followed multiple sick leaves and signs of discomfort within the pre-academy and the youth recruitment department. The CSE report, based on around thirty hearings, even recommended a leadership change at the head of the training center.

After conducting its own investigation, the Parisian management ultimately concluded that a reshuffle was unnecessary. The club has therefore renewed its confidence in Yohan Cabaye as well as Lucas Vigneron, head of academy operations, while promising improvements in communication and internal organization.

From a sporting perspective, results remain very encouraging. As highlighted by Le Parisien, the U17 team leads its league, the U18 side has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Coupe Gambardella, and the youth team has reached the same stage in the Youth League. Eight academy players have also featured for the first team this season, while the academy boasts a 95% success rate in the baccalaureate exams. PSG now hopes to ease tensions and focus on these positive achievements.
