Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match against Stade Brestois 29, Luis Enrique confirmed that PSG would carefully manage players’ fitness after the huge Champions League qualification against Bayern Munich.
Luis Enrique announced major squad rotation and wants to protect his key players before the final against Arsenal. The lineup against Brest is expected to feature many backup players. The Parisian coach explained that he is trying to find the right balance between recovery and maintaining match rhythm ahead of the Champions League final. “To reach the final, you need competitive minutes. But that also comes with risks,” he explained.

Regarding the many injured players, Luis Enrique tried to reassure supporters despite the absences of Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Achraf Hakimi, and Lucas Chevalier. “There is no serious problem,” the Spaniard said, and he is expected to give several academy youngsters an opportunity against Brest.

Asked about Désiré Doué, the PSG coach did not hide his admiration. “He is a very important player, very young, with incredible physical and technical qualities. He is very mature,” he declared. Finally, Luis Enrique also addressed the criticism surrounding Matvey Safonov’s deliberate clearances into touch against Bayern Munich. Without revealing tactical details, he simply reminded everyone: “What matters is that the team wins.”
