PSG Take a Major Risk With Its Summer Transfer Window

Paris Saint-Germain has decided to put all transfer market activity and contract extension talks on hold until the Champions League final against Arsenal FC. According to L’Équipe, every ongoing negotiation has been suspended in order to keep the squad fully focused on its sporting objectives.

PSG is currently in complete pause mode. All attention is centered on the Champions League final, and even the transfer window has been frozen according to L’Équipe. Several major files remain unresolved, including the situations of Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, Lee Kang-in and Senny Mayulu, whose contract situation is becoming increasingly urgent with only one year remaining on his deal.

PSG Prioritizes Stability Before the Final

Internally, PSG believes that opening negotiations at this stage of the season could create unnecessary tension inside the dressing room. Several extensions had already been completed in recent months with João Neves, Willian Pacho, Fabián Ruiz and Lucas Beraldo.

“We had been discussing for nine months, there had already been offers. We talked many times and some cases were already finalized (Beraldo, Neves, Pacho, Fabian Ruiz…). The others require more time to think. Once we enter the period of the ‘real’ matches, we stop discussing. There is no point, except creating friction,” a PSG source told L’Équipe.

But this break could also benefit other major European clubs, especially in the Bradley Barcola case, with strong interest coming from England. A potential Champions League triumph could also strengthen the bargaining power of agents once negotiations resume with Paris. For now, PSG is fully focused on winning its second European star. Contract talks can wait.
