PSG. Crowned in Ligue 1, Dembélé Responds to Critics

Ousmane Dembélé is enjoying the moment… but still wants to win everything. Named the best player in Ligue 1 for the 2025-2026 season on Monday night at the UNFP Awards, the PSG forward expressed his pride after claiming this individual honor for the second consecutive year.

Speaking to the media, the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner mainly wanted to thank Paris Saint-Germain and his teammates. “I’m spending exceptional years at PSG,” Dembélé explained, delighted to keep collecting trophies in Paris colors.

Dembélé Still Hungry for More Success

Despite a season disrupted by several physical issues and sometimes limited playing time, the French international believes he always delivered in the biggest matches. He notably highlighted his performances against Marseille and Lille, while admitting that his Ballon d’Or status has changed the way people view him.

“People’s views have changed because I’m the reigning Ballon d’Or. And yes, I’ve had quite a few physical issues. I haven’t had a huge amount of playing time, but every time I was on the pitch, I tried to deliver. That was the case against Marseille or Lille where I tried to help the team. I don’t know if my time counts double, but I’m happy that the players voted for me,” he said in the mixed zone.

But Dembélé has no intention of stopping there. Already a World Cup winner, Champions League winner and Ballon d’Or holder, the 28-year-old star remains extremely hungry for more success. “Every year, all the counters go back to zero. I’m a competitor,” he declared. Ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal, the PSG forward also appeared very relaxed physically. “We’re going to enjoy ourselves,” Dembélé added about the end of the season, where PSG can still achieve a historic double.
