Real Madrid’s presidential campaign is starting to look like a blockbuster transfer window. After promising the arrivals of José Mourinho on the bench, as well as Ibrahima Konaté and Denzel Dumfries, Florentino Pérez revealed that he still had another surprise up his sleeve.
Appearing on the television program Horizonte Cuatro on Thursday evening, the Madrid president unveiled what could become the most spectacular move of his campaign: a record €150 million offer to sign one of world football’s biggest stars. “Real Madrid is now worth €10 billion. When I arrived, the club could not even pay half of the players’ salaries. Today, all the best players in the world want to play for Real Madrid,” Pérez declared.

He then added: “On Tuesday, I will make a €150 million offer to sign one of the best players from a Champions League team.” The statement immediately sparked a wave of speculation across Spain. Pressed by journalists for more details, Pérez agreed to provide a few additional clues.
“The €150 million offer is not for a Premier League player,” he clarified, ruling out several names that had been linked with the club in recent weeks, including Erling Haaland, Jérémy Doku, and Michael Olise. Since then, attention has naturally shifted toward Paris. Spanish media have repeatedly mentioned Vitinha and João Neves, two of the key architects behind PSG’s European triumph, as well as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The challenge for Real Madrid is that all three players appear fully committed to Luis Enrique’s project. Vitinha recently stated that it would be “crazy” for him to leave Paris, while João Neves once again demonstrated his attachment to the club during a recent photo session at the Parc des Princes. One thing is certain: with the announcement of a potential €150 million bid, Florentino Pérez has captured the headlines. The only question now is whether next Tuesday will bring a genuine signing—or simply another campaign promise.
