Matvey Safonov finally held his wedding celebration… two years after getting married. Officially married since March 2025 at the Russian consulate in Paris, the couple had not yet had the chance to gather their loved ones. With PSG involved in so many competitions in recent months, Safonov had been forced to postpone the festivities.

A Long-Awaited Wedding Celebration

Taking advantage of his summer break, made possible by Russia’s absence from the 2026 World Cup, the Paris goalkeeper finally organized a lavish ceremony. In the photos published on his social media, the couple appear dressed in white, while the guests wore black.

“We finally had the chance to celebrate our wedding. Even though we had been married for a year and a half, we wanted to organize an exceptional and memorable event for all our guests,” Safonov wrote on his Telegram account.

This is the 27-year-old goalkeeper’s second marriage. He had previously married Anastasia Kazachek in 2020, with whom he has a daughter. Exempted from Russia’s friendly matches in early June, Safonov is now enjoying several weeks of rest before PSG resume training on July 25.
