Kang-in Lee’s future appears increasingly likely to be away from Paris. Used sparingly by Luis Enrique during the second half of the season, the South Korean international is among the players who could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The French champions have reportedly already set their valuation.
Kang-in Lee’s departure is becoming more and more likely. According to AS, PSG have set a €35 million asking price for the attacking midfielder. Atlético Madrid, who have been monitoring the situation for several weeks, reportedly consider that fee too high and are attempting to negotiate a lower price.
Atlético Madrid Pushes for Transfer Deal
Despite the financial gap, discussions are progressing. PSG are open to a transfer, the player is seeking more playing time, and Atlético Madrid want to strengthen their attacking options. All three parties therefore have a strong incentive to reach an agreement.
Since arriving in Paris with high expectations, Kang-in Lee has never fully established himself as an undisputed starter despite showing flashes of quality. At 25, he could now revive his career in a league better suited to his style of play and strengths.
Unless there is a dramatic turnaround, negotiations are expected to intensify after the 2026 World Cup. Atlético Madrid currently appear to be the strongest contender to sign the South Korean star, although a financial compromise will likely be required to convince PSG to complete the deal.
