PSG: Luis Enrique Explains the Signing of Ferran Torres

Barely arrived at Paris Saint-Germain, Ferran Torres has already earned praise from Luis Enrique. Officially signed on Saturday, the 26-year-old Spanish forward is a particularly welcome addition for the PSG coach, who sees him as a player capable of immediately providing several new options to his team.

Luis Enrique is already impressed by Ferran Torres at PSG. After scoring 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-2026 season, Torres arrives in Paris with significant experience at the highest level. Luis Enrique values Ferran Torres’ versatility

“I’m happy with his arrival. I think we are improving the team, and we are always looking for opportunities,” the Spanish coach explained at a press conference. Luis Enrique knows his compatriot’s qualities very well and believes his profile perfectly matches PSG’s requirements. “He is an international player, we know him, and he fits perfectly because he can play anywhere. With his mentality, I think it is important to have this type of player,” he added.

Ferran Torres’ versatility could therefore give PSG numerous options in attack. The club’s new number nine can operate as a centre-forward but can also play on either wing depending on the team’s needs and Luis Enrique’s tactical choices.

Luis Enrique also took the opportunity to stress that PSG’s transfer business may not be finished yet. “We continue to work with the president and Campos on the transfer market, and we are looking to improve the team,” he concluded.
