The big day has arrived for the French national team. On Tuesday night in New York, Les Bleus begin their 2026 World Cup campaign against Senegal. Didier Deschamps is expected to place his trust in two Paris Saint-Germain stars from the start: Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué.
According to the latest reports, France manager Didier Deschamps will stick with his four-man attacking setup featuring Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, and Kylian Mbappé. It is excellent news for the young PSG midfielder, who appears to have moved ahead of Bradley Barcola in the pecking order.
Dembélé and Doué Expected to Lead France Attack
Already an indispensable figure for France, Dembélé will be one of the team’s main attacking threats. The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner will look to carry over the outstanding form he displayed with PSG throughout an exceptional season.
Doué’s expected inclusion comes at the expense of Barcola. France’s probable lineup is: Mike Maignan – Jules Koundé, Dayot Upamecano, William Saliba, Theo Hernandez – Aurélien Tchouaméni, Adrien Rabiot – Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué – Kylian Mbappé (captain).
On the other side, Senegal can rely on several experienced leaders, including Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye, and Sadio Mané. France will face a formidable opponent. Senegal’s probable lineup is: Edouard Mendy – Krepin Diatta, Kalidou Koulibaly, Moussa Niakhaté, El Hadji Malick Diouf – Lamine Camara, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye – Ismaïla Sarr, Nicolas Jackson, Sadio Mané (captain).
