Paris Saint-Germain will have to do without its lucky hotel as it approaches its major European clash. Unlike last season, the French club will not return to the establishment that hosted its delegation during the Champions League final. The reason: Bayern Munich has already booked the venue.
PSG will not have access to its favorite hotel. Known for their superstitions, the Parisian officials had hoped to return to the Infinity Hotel & Conference Resort, which had become a symbol of their recent European run.
A logistical stronghold claimed by Bayern
However, this hotel is far from a random choice for the Bavarian club. It has been their regular base camp for over a decade, a key part of their logistical routine and preparation.
On Bayern’s side, the stance is firm and clear. Vincent Kompany and Christoph Freund have left no room for doubt: the hotel belongs to their organization for the duration of the competition. There is no question of giving it up, nor of sharing it with a direct rival. For the German club, playing “at home” also means keeping familiar surroundings off the pitch.
Faced with this situation, Paris Saint-Germain has had to adapt and revise its plans, according to L’Équipe. The Parisian delegation is now expected to stay in another hotel in the city, with the Andaz emerging as the most likely option. A change in routine that will not stop PSG from trying to write a new chapter in its European history, even away from its beloved hotel.
