Three attacking reinforcements for the price of Yan Diomandé, PSG got it all right

Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of Mika Godts, the latest addition to their attacking department. With this move, the French champions have completed a trio that also includes Ferran Torres and Maghnes Akliouche.

In total, Paris have invested around €150 million to bring in the three players. Mika Godts cost an estimated €55 million, Ferran Torres around €50 million and Maghnes Akliouche approximately €50 million.

PSG refused to overpay for Yan Diomandé

PSG had also explored a move for Yan Diomandé but were unwilling to go that far financially. The winger eventually joined Real Madrid for a fee close to €140 million. Paris instead chose a different strategy, preferring to spread its investment across several attacking options rather than spend almost its entire budget on one player.

Godts, Torres and Akliouche now provide Luis Enrique with several different solutions on the wings and across the attacking line. Together, they cost roughly the same amount as Diomandé alone at Real Madrid, while significantly increasing the depth and variety of PSG’s squad.

The contrast is striking: around €150 million for three attacking reinforcements at PSG compared with €140 million for Diomandé at Real Madrid. Paris therefore believe they avoided overpaying for their initial target while still strengthening their squad considerably ahead of the new season.
