Luis Enrique expresses confidence ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg against Dortmund.

Luis Enrique hasn’t had much time to learn French this season, but for this second leg of the Champions League semi-final, the PSG coach has learned one phrase. And it’s a significant one.

“We will win, it’s the only phrase I know in French,” the Spanish manager said in a press conference. “The goal is not to win by two goals, it’s to win the match. We can score two goals in three minutes but we can also concede. We need to be focused in attack and defense. If we concede a goal, it’s okay. If we score two goals quickly, the opponent will have to react.”

Time for Himself… to Exercise

For Luis Enrique, it’s essential to adhere strictly to the tactics: “I work on this every day. I try to instill an idea, and those who have to carry it out are the players. They must participate in this process, and this team responds exceptionally. The coach must instill confidence in the players.”

But Luis Enrique also takes some time for himself. “In real life, it’s not just about work. You have to do things outside of it, and I try to do that. I love sports, cycling, paddle tennis; we have a court here. I like going to the gym. We’ve had plenty of time to analyze, transmit the margin of progression to the players. We need to relax everyone a bit, and we’re also thinking about this semi-final.”
