Paris Saint-Germain have not given up on Maghnes Akliouche. Despite several rejected offers from AS Monaco, negotiations have reportedly accelerated in recent hours, and the French attacking midfielder is now seriously moving closer to the capital.
PSG have been working on the deal for several weeks. Akliouche is said to be attracted by the Parisian project and eager to play under Luis Enrique. Monaco, however, have continued to defend their interests firmly and had previously refused every proposal submitted by the French champions.
PSG Make a Breakthrough in Akliouche Talks
Paris reportedly began with an offer of just under €30 million before returning with a second bid worth around €35 million, according to L’Équipe. Luis Campos then significantly increased the proposal to €45 million plus €5 million in bonuses, taking the total package to €50 million, but Monaco still demanded a few million more.
Despite those three rejections, discussions have now made significant progress. Fabrizio Romano reports that PSG and Monaco have reached a breakthrough, with an agreement entering its final stages. A few details still need to be settled before the transfer can be completed.
PSG may have submitted a fourth offer or adjusted the structure of the deal by including more achievable bonuses or a percentage of a future sale. Akliouche has reportedly already chosen Paris, and after several weeks of negotiations, Romano’s famous “Here we go” could now be close, provided PSG make one final financial effort.
