Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Julián Alvarez. According to reports from El Chiringuito, the French club has submitted a huge proposal to Atlético Madrid: €120 million plus two players in an attempt to convince the Spanish side to part ways with their Argentine star.

Are PSG really ready to go all in for Julián Alvarez? Spanish media are reporting an extraordinary offer for the former Manchester City striker. Luis Enrique is said to be a huge admirer of the forward’s profile, and Paris would even be prepared to offer him a salary comparable to Ousmane Dembélé’s, around €22 million net per season. Such a financial commitment would underline the club’s determination in this transfer pursuit.

Atlético Standing Firm on Alvarez

The problem for PSG is that Atlético Madrid’s position appears crystal clear. According to AS, the club’s executives consider Julián Alvarez completely untouchable. Some sources close to Atlético have even criticized FC Barcelona, another club linked with the player. “Barça, in this whole Julian situation, are behaving like a small club,” Madrid officials reportedly stated.

Atlético insist they have received no official offer for their striker and emphasize one key point: Alvarez has never asked to leave. Internally, the 2022 World Cup winner is viewed as an “irreproachable” professional and one of the foundations of the club’s sporting project.

Even if PSG continue working behind the scenes, the deal looks extremely difficult to complete. Under contract until 2030, the Argentine is valued at more than €150 million by Atlético, who have no intention of opening the door to a transfer this summer.
