Paris Saint-Germain have already identified João França as one of their top young targets, but Palmeiras have moved quickly to secure the future of their latest academy gem. At just 16 years old, the Brazilian talent has signed his first professional contract, complete with a massive release clause.
PSG continue to scout the world’s brightest prospects, with Brazil remaining one of their key markets. Although players such as Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo have recently joined the French champions, many of Brazil’s biggest stars have chosen different destinations. João França is reportedly admired by the Parisian club, but Palmeiras have responded by inserting an enormous buyout clause into his new deal.
PSG Closely Monitoring João França’s Development
The release clause has been set at €100 million (around 580 million Brazilian reais), a figure designed to discourage PSG and Europe’s other elite clubs from making an early move. According to Globo Esporte, PSG have already sent scouts to Brazil to monitor the attacking midfielder’s progress, and Palmeiras are fully aware of the growing interest.
The left-footed youngster has signed a three-year contract, the maximum length permitted for a first professional deal in Brazil. Already a regular for Palmeiras’ Under-17 side and a Brazil youth international, João França has scored six goals in ten matches this season after helping the club win the 2025 Paulista U15 Championship. Following the emergence of Endrick, Estêvão and Luis Guilherme, Palmeiras believe they have another future star on their hands. PSG remain interested, but the Brazilian club’s message is clear: any team hoping to sign João França will have to pay a premium.
