Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on Zion Suzuki. After several weeks of talks with Parma, the French champions are now reportedly close to finalizing the signing of the Japan international goalkeeper.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the final details of the deal are currently being resolved. Randal Kolo Muani’s transfer to Juventus, including €38 million in guaranteed fees, has reportedly given PSG the financial room required to accelerate negotiations and complete the move.
PSG Have Tracked Suzuki Since the World Cup
PSG’s interest in Zion Suzuki is not new. The club first contacted Parma in mid-July following the 23-year-old goalkeeper’s impressive performances for Japan at the 2026 World Cup. Talks progressed quickly, although the Italian club’s asking price initially slowed negotiations. Parma wanted between €35 million and €40 million for a player under contract until 2029, prompting Paris to consider several options, including signing Suzuki before temporarily leaving him in Italy or gradually giving him a more prominent role in the PSG squad.

Competition was also strong, with Leeds, several Premier League clubs and Juventus all showing interest. The Turin side could offer Suzuki an immediate starting position, an important factor for a goalkeeper who rejected Manchester United in 2023 because he did not want to become a backup. PSG have nevertheless moved back ahead by presenting their project directly to the player and submitting an official offer estimated at €33 million. Parma are now believed to be ready to complete the transfer, with discussions focused on bonuses and payment terms.
Barring a late twist, Zion Suzuki is therefore expected to become PSG’s latest signing. His arrival would give Luis Enrique a powerful goalkeeper who is confident when coming off his line and comfortable contributing to the build-up from his penalty area. The remaining question concerns the exact role he will be given alongside Lucas Chevalier.
