After four seasons at Manchester City, Erling Haaland could soon face a major change in his career. With Pep Guardiola expected to leave and Enzo Maresca tipped to take charge of the Premier League champions, the Norwegian striker could be tempted by a fresh challenge if things do not click with his future manager.
Could Erling Haaland really leave Manchester City? His father has reignited speculation by speaking openly about Paris Saint-Germain. Appearing on the French show Rothen s’enflamme, Alf-Inge Haaland addressed the long-standing rumors linking his son with PSG while refusing to completely rule out such a move in the future.
PSG Dream Still Alive?
“PSG are a fantastic club. They have just enjoyed two incredible seasons and won two Champions League titles. It is a truly great club. Back then, the rumors were unfounded because the timing simply wasn’t right,” Haaland’s father explained. However, he also reminded everyone that Erling Haaland recently extended his contract with Manchester City until 2034, although the deal reportedly includes a release clause that can be activated in the summer of 2029 or 2030. Until then, City would only consider selling him for a fee close to his market value, currently estimated at around €200 million.
The quote that immediately caught the attention of PSG supporters came when Alf-Inge Haaland was asked whether his son could one day play in Ligue 1. He refused to shut the door on the possibility, saying, “I don’t know. The future will tell us, but nothing is impossible.” Those words have instantly reignited speculation about a blockbuster move that could eventually bring one of the world’s best strikers to Paris.
