Two weeks after the Champions League final humiliation, Lautaro Martinez is still reeling. The Inter Milan captain admits the 5–0 loss to PSG is a scar that won’t fade anytime soon.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lautaro opened up: “I was sad. I didn’t speak for five or six days. That night, nothing worked. We lost everything. It wasn’t us—we weren’t a team. That’s football. Now we have to move on, but it’s still in my head.”
The World Cup winner was visibly shaken by the brutal defeat in Munich, which capped off a nightmarish end to Inter’s season.
PSG defeat caps bitter campaign
Inter’s collapse against Paris wasn’t the only setback. Losing the Scudetto, crashing out of the Coppa Italia… it’s been a rough ride. Lautaro is trying to rally the troops:
“I spoke to the guys. I asked for one last effort. We’re Inter. We want to aim for the top.”
But the ghosts of Munich continue to loom—and Inter’s road to recovery is only just beginning.
