Luis Enrique made things clear this summer: PSG must stay compact, without a flood of new arrivals. His trust lies in the current squad and the youngsters rising through the ranks — though he does have one regret.
According to Sports Zone on X, the Spanish coach turned down more than five profiles suggested by Luis Campos during the transfer window. Enrique is convinced his group already has the quality to progress without stacking up new signings.
Wanted: a backup for Hakimi
The only exception? Right-back. Enrique wanted cover for Achraf Hakimi to manage injuries and rotation. Yet none of the options presented by Campos convinced him, leaving PSG without reinforcements in this key position.
That said, the club’s mercato was still lively. Paris brought in Chevalier and Zabarnyi, while several big names headed out: Presnel Kimpembe to Qatar SC, plus exits for Gigio Donnarumma, Carlos Soler, Randal Kolo Muani, Marco Asensio, and Renato Sanches, either via transfer or loan.
An ambitious yet deliberately restrained summer window, shaped by Luis Enrique’s philosophy: maximize the potential of his existing squad before anything else.
