After another outstanding season and a pivotal role in Paris Saint-Germain’s second European triumph, Ousmane Dembélé has become more central than ever to Luis Enrique’s project. The Parisian leadership is now looking to reward the French star for his performances.
Dembélé is currently in the United States for the 2026 World Cup, but discussions with PSG over a contract extension are progressing at the same time. According to L’Équipe, talks between both parties are moving in a positive direction. Already under contract until 2028, the French international could soon commit his future to the club for even longer.
Contract Talks and Salary Negotiations
However, negotiations have not yet been finalized. The main sticking point remains salary terms. Sticking to its new financial strategy, PSG is reluctant to significantly increase its wage bill despite the player’s importance to the squad.
Targeted by several major European clubs, Dembélé is keen to use his strong position to secure a substantial pay rise. The French forward is currently believed to earn around €1.5 million gross per month and feels his recent performances justify improved terms.
Despite the remaining gap to bridge, optimism surrounds the negotiations. PSG wants to keep one of its attacking leaders, while Dembélé feels fully fulfilled under Luis Enrique. Most importantly, both sides share the same desire to continue together, making a deal appear to be only a matter of time rather than a genuine risk of a split.
