Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s team remains penalized in the standings. The three forfeits handed down in the Première Ligue over a licensing issue involving Canadian player Florianne Jourde have been confirmed on appeal, according to a source close to the club. It is another major sporting setback for the Parisian side.
The women’s PSG squad is still under sanction: the forfeited losses have been upheld, but the club is now launching a counteroffensive. Officials continue to consider the decision “totally disproportionate” and are determined to challenge it.
License dispute at the center of the case
PSG plans to take the matter to the CNOSF and then to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in an effort to have the sanction overturned. The club hopes these new proceedings will lead to a reassessment of the punishment imposed.
The French Football Federation sanctioned the club on December 22 following a complaint from Fleury, who had been beaten 4–0 on matchday seven. The forfeit was also extended to two earlier wins against Le Havre and Strasbourg, while other matches were excluded due to the statute of limitations. The issue centers on the absence of an international transfer certificate issued by FIFA, a mandatory document for validating a player’s license after a club change. PSG maintains it acted in good faith and notes that the player’s license had been approved by the federation at the time of registration.
