Paris Saint-Germain faced Olympique de Marseille on Sunday evening in the closing match of Ligue 1’s 21st round and secured a resounding 5–0 victory. After the game, 31-year-old PSG defender and captain Marquinhos spoke to PSG TV to analyze the dominant performance.

Marquinhos stood tall after the win. The PSG captain was delighted after scoring five goals against Marseille, and for good reason. “We really wanted to play with the right level of confidence. We’ve played a few matches against them this season where we had difficulties, but today we truly wanted to show our level. Against Marseille, in the league, we wanted to deliver a strong response.”

He added: “To show that Paris Saint-Germain is here. More and more, we are improving physically, in our organization, and in our confidence, and this match was a real chance to show that. I think we succeeded with the style, the intensity, and all the ingredients needed for this match were on our side.”

The Paris captain also emphasized the role of the crowd and the collective momentum shown during the match. “The atmosphere was incredible from the start. The tifos were also amazing. The supporters sang a lot, and on the pitch we could feel that when we are all together like that, with this atmosphere here at the Parc, we are going to experience a great night.”
