PSG: Dro Fernández blown away by the intensity of Ligue 1… and he says it clearly. He thought the French league would be something like a holiday.
Spanish media propaganda seems to be working. Dro believed Ligue 1 would be really easy. For his first start with Paris Saint-Germain against Metz (3-0), Dro Fernández made an impression… and discovered the true reality of the French championship.
Dro Fernández impressed by the intensity of Ligue 1
Arriving this winter from FC Barcelona, the 18-year-old Spanish midfielder admitted he was surprised by the level of Ligue 1. He expected a less competitive league but was ultimately struck by the intensity and physical power of the opponents he faced.
“Well, I think we controlled the match well from the start. Personally, I felt good, it’s progressing little by little. I came to play, to get minutes and build rhythm. I’m very happy with the win. Honestly, I was expecting a lower level; I’m very surprised by the league,” he said.
Pleased with the victory and his growing influence, the young Paris player insists he wants to keep working to establish himself and earn more playing time. A swift yet clear-eyed adaptation for one of PSG’s new faces. “In every match, the opponents are strong and physical. I have to keep working to succeed,” the young PSG talent told Ligue 1+.
