PSG vs Brest: Press Player Ratings, Paris Closer to the Title

Paris Saint-Germain secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Brest at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 33 of Ligue 1. The match featured heavy squad rotation ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal, with noticeably different player ratings between the French media and VIPSG.FR.

In goal, Renato Marin impressed everyone. Le Parisien and L’Équipe awarded him strong ratings of 6.5 and 7, while VIPSG.FR also praised the young goalkeeper with a 6.5/10 after several reassuring saves and composed interventions.

Doué and Mayulu Shine for PSG

The Paris defense also received positive reviews. Lucas Hernandez earned a 6 from Le Parisien, a 7 from L’Équipe, and a 6.5 from VIPSG.FR. Similar trends followed for Marquinhos and Zabarnyi, both considered reliable despite Brest creating very little danger. But the biggest surprise of the night was Senny Mayulu. Already highly rated by the French press with a 6.5 and 7, the Paris academy product exploded at VIPSG.FR with a huge 8/10 after a very attacking display at right-back.

In midfield, Fabian Ruiz stood out as the most convincing player across all outlets. The Spaniard received a 5 from Le Parisien, a 6 from L’Équipe, and an excellent 7/10 from VIPSG.FR thanks to his technical control and playmaking role. Beraldo, deployed in midfield, collected more neutral ratings with 5, 5, and 6/10. Youngster Dro divided opinion more heavily: 5 in Le Parisien, 4 in L’Équipe, but 6.5/10 from VIPSG.FR for his technical quality and willingness to take initiative.

In attack, Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos failed to convince. Barcola received a 4 from Le Parisien, a 3 from L’Équipe, and only a 5/10 from VIPSG.FR. The same criticism applied to Ramos, considered too wasteful despite his efforts. On the other hand, Lee Kang-In impressed VIPSG.FR much more with a 7/10, significantly higher than the ratings from Le Parisien (4) and L’Équipe (5). Off the bench, Désiré Doué completely changed the game and was named man of the match by VIPSG.FR with an 8/10 after scoring the decisive goal. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé also energized the PSG attack in the final stages, finally bringing the danger Paris had lacked for most of the match.
