PSG travel to Lille this Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. for the second matchday of Ligue 1. While the general outline of the Parisian starting XI appears to be taking shape, Le Parisien and L’Équipe disagree over how Luis Enrique will organize his midfield.

Both newspapers expect Fabian Ruiz to return to the starting lineup, with the Spanish international likely to operate on the left side of midfield. However, their predictions differ significantly when it comes to the holding midfield position and the role on the right.

Vitinha or Beraldo in PSG’s midfield?

According to Le Parisien, Luis Enrique is expected to keep Vitinha in front of the defense, alongside Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaïre-Emery. L’Équipe predicts a much more surprising option, with Lucas Beraldo starting as the holding midfielder. The Brazilian, normally deployed at center-back, would play behind João Neves and Fabian Ruiz.

Elsewhere, the two newspapers largely agree, except at right-back. Safonov is expected to start in goal, with Achraf Hakimi or Zaïre-Emery joining Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Lucas Digne in defense. In attack, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should support Ferran Torres. The main uncertainty therefore remains in midfield: will Luis Enrique opt for Vitinha and Zaïre-Emery, as Le Parisien predicts, or experiment with Beraldo and João Neves, as suggested by L’Équipe?
