PSG Set to Receive a Nice Windfall From a Player Sale

PSG have hit an unexpected jackpot thanks to Joane Gadou. This Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund officially announced the signing of the young French defender from RB Salzburg for €20 million, with an additional €6 million in potential bonuses.

And Paris had already planned ahead in this deal. According to RMC Sport, PSG negotiated a 20% sell-on clause on the player’s future capital gain when Gadou left for Austria in 2024.

As a result, the Parisian club are expected to receive around €2 million thanks to the transfer of their former academy product to Dortmund.

It is excellent news for PSG’s finances at a difficult time surrounding Ligue 1 TV rights. Meanwhile, Gadou continues his rapid rise after leaving the PSG academy only two years ago.

The 19-year-old French defender has signed a contract with Dortmund until 2031. Before leaving the club, he notably played for PSG’s U17 and U19 teams.
