Paris Saint-Germain continues to make history, including at youth level. Within just two days, both the U19 and U17 teams were crowned French champions, allowing the Parisian club to achieve only the third U19-U17 double in its history.
On Saturday, the U19 side retained its national title by defeating Clermont 2-1 in the final. After falling behind, the young Parisians turned the game around thanks to a brace from Mathis Jangéal just before halftime. The victory secured a fourth consecutive title in the category and a seventh national crown overall.
A Remarkable Season for PSG’s Academy
The following day, the U17 team followed suit with a 2-0 victory over Angers in the National Championship final. Lorenzo Kana Biyik and Noha Tiehi scored the goals that delivered PSG’s fourth French U17 championship title, rewarding a particularly promising generation of young talent.
These two trophies add to the Coupe Gambardella won a few weeks ago, as well as the Nike U18 Cup captured by the women’s team. It is an exceptional haul that highlights the quality of the work being carried out at the PSG Campus and within the club’s renowned academy.
Academy director Yohan Cabaye expressed his pride after the historic weekend. “Winning both the U19 and U17 National Championships in the same season is a tremendous satisfaction. These titles, combined with our Coupe Gambardella success, reward the daily efforts of the players and all the staff members,” he explained. With several international prospects in its ranks and impressive results across every level, Paris Saint-Germain continues to strengthen its status as the benchmark for youth development in French football.
