PSG Close the Door on Signing a New Midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain are not expected to sign a new midfielder this summer. According to Loïc Tanzi, speaking via ICI Paris Île-de-France, the capital club have decided to place their trust in the players already available in the squad.

There will be no new midfielder at PSG, with Luis Enrique having made his decision. The Ayyoub Bouaddi deal has therefore reportedly been shelved. PSG had made indirect enquiries about the young Lille midfielder’s situation but never seriously stepped up their interest.

Luis Enrique Trusts His Current Midfield Options

Bouaddi’s profile appealed to the Parisian hierarchy, but the club decided not to take negotiations any further. PSG believe they already have enough options in midfield for next season, especially after securing the futures of several important players. Senny Mayulu and Fabian Ruiz have extended their contracts, while Lucas Beraldo is expected to be used more frequently in midfield.

Luis Enrique will also be able to rely on Désiré Doué, who can operate in a deeper central role depending on the team’s needs. With all these options available, the PSG hierarchy no longer considers signing a midfielder a priority.

The club’s transfer business should therefore focus on other areas, particularly the attack. Unless there is a major change, PSG are expected to begin the season with a midfield built around their current players.
