Lucas Digne’s return to Paris Saint-Germain is now all but complete. The French champions have reached an agreement with Aston Villa, and the French defender is expected to undergo his medical on Monday before officially signing his contract.
PSG have secured their first signing of the summer. According to the latest reports from Foot Mercato, a full agreement has been reached with Aston Villa for the transfer of Lucas Digne, who is set to return to the club where he played between 2013 and 2016. The 33-year-old left-back will complete his medical before putting pen to paper with the Ligue 1 champions.
Lucas Digne Set for a Three-Year Return to Paris
PSG will pay around €10 million to convince Aston Villa to part ways with the experienced defender. Digne is expected to sign a three-year contract that will keep him in Paris until 2029. Luis Enrique was eager to add an experienced full-back capable of supporting Nuno Mendes throughout the season, and the French international quickly emerged as the preferred choice within the club’s hierarchy.

Nine years after leaving the French capital, Digne is preparing for a homecoming. After coming through Lille’s academy, he represented PSG from 2013 to 2016 before spending time at AS Roma, Barcelona, Everton and Aston Villa.
According to reports, the move also carries personal significance, with one of his sons being a devoted PSG supporter, further strengthening the defender’s desire to return. Barring any issues during his medical, the transfer is expected to be officially announced in the coming hours.
