Aleksey Batrakov Flirts with PSG Again: “I’d Like to Live in Paris”

Long linked with a possible summer move to Paris Saint-Germain, Aleksey Batrakov continues to send signals to the French capital club. Although the transfer appears to have cooled, the Russian attacking midfielder has made no secret of his attraction to Paris.

Batrakov has revived the speculation following a recent visit to the city. The young Russian was one of the names mentioned early in PSG’s transfer window, with his agent even claiming that the deal was virtually complete.

Batrakov Still Dreaming of a Future in Paris

“There is a 95% chance that Batrakov will join PSG,” Dmitry Cheltsov said on the Komment.Show YouTube channel in early June. The agent also claimed that Luis Campos was expected to travel to Moscow to finalise the move. However, the deal eventually collapsed. According to Canal+, the European champions decided to abandon the option after reviewing the file, possibly because of the high salary demands made by the player’s representatives.

After recording 17 goals and 12 assists in 35 appearances last season, the 21-year-old recently travelled to Paris, where he proposed to his partner. Asked by Championat whether he could imagine living in the French capital, Batrakov replied: “Probably, yes. Maybe Paris would then reveal itself to me in a different way. Visiting for a few days and walking around is one thing, living there is another. But I’d like that.”

The Russia international denied meeting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Matvey Safonov during his stay, explaining that he does not know the Georgian winger and is not particularly close to the PSG goalkeeper. The Batrakov file therefore appears to be at a standstill, or even completely abandoned by PSG, but the player is no longer hiding his desire to experience life in Paris.
