Paris Saint-Germain are not only dominating French football on the pitch. Thanks to the 2026 World Cup, the capital club are also set to finish well ahead of their domestic rivals financially.
PSG are in line for a huge payment. FIFA will compensate clubs that released their international players for the tournament, and unsurprisingly, Paris are expected to receive the largest amount among French teams.
PSG Lead Ligue 1’s World Cup Compensation Ranking
With almost €2.5 million expected, PSG will collect more than twice as much as the second-highest French club, Lille, who are set to receive around €1.2 million. Globally, only Manchester City are expected to earn more, with the European champions benefiting from the involvement of 19 international players.

Behind Lille, Monaco should receive approximately €960,000, followed by Rennes with €930,000, Strasbourg with €910,000, Nice with €890,000 and Marseille with €880,000. These payments are far from insignificant for Ligue 1 clubs that had to cope without several key players for more than a month.
FIFA is paying around €4,300 per player per day for the period between June 1 and July 19, 2026. The money may then be shared between the clubs that employed each player during the previous two seasons. With a total fund of €305.3 million, FIFA is rewarding the teams that contributed to the tournament, and PSG once again underline their unique status in French football by receiving more than double the amount awarded to any other Ligue 1 side.
