Désiré Doué is keeping the right mindset. Speaking at a press conference with the France team during the World Cup, the Paris Saint-Germain player discussed the attacking competition within Les Bleus, as well as his Parisian teammates Warren Zaïre-Emery and Bradley Barcola.
Désiré Doué is not thinking only about himself. He knows the French collective is highly competitive. In a very crowded attacking sector, with several players capable of making the difference at any moment, the young Parisian does not see this competition as a problem. On the contrary, he believes it pushes everyone to improve.
Doué Stays Ready Despite France’s Attacking Depth
“It pushes all of us to raise our level. Defensively, we are very strong. We have very good midfielders and the best attackers in the world. The coach has created a squad of 26 players where everyone has a role to play. I stay ready and whenever I can, I give 100%,” Désiré Doué explained.
The PSG player knows that places are hard to earn, especially in an attacking sector where Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, Michael Olise and Kylian Mbappé already occupy a lot of space. But Doué is not complaining. He is waiting for his moment and wants to contribute as soon as he gets the opportunity. About Barcola, he said: “We have a lot of qualities. We are different in terms of profiles. I can play in several positions, Bradley is more of a winger. He is fast with and without the ball. I am more comfortable in tight spaces. I am enjoying this first World Cup. All the players feel only happiness. It is a magnificent competition to play. When I smile during the anthem, it is because I am happy to be here.”
Also asked about Warren Zaïre-Emery, Désiré Doué did not hide his admiration for his Parisian teammate. “Warren is an exceptional player with a champion’s mentality. He shows it every day. He always has the same energy and desire,” he said. A nice message for Zaïre-Emery, but also a strong sign of the atmosphere within the France squad. Despite the competition, the young Parisian talents are moving forward together with the same goal: helping Les Bleus go as far as possible in this World Cup.
