Luis Enrique continues to receive widespread praise after leading Paris Saint-Germain to a second consecutive Champions League title. Among his biggest admirers is now former PSG midfielder Jérôme Rothen, who has been completely won over by the work accomplished by the Spanish coach.
Speaking on RMC, Rothen did not hide his admiration for the man who has transformed the club since his arrival. In fact, he went so far as to call for an extraordinary tribute in recognition of Luis Enrique’s achievements.
Luis Enrique’s Growing Legacy at PSG
“Build him a statue,” Rothen declared, believing that Luis Enrique already deserves a unique place in PSG history. The former player praised the coach’s total commitment to the club and his deep connection to the Parisian project.
“I campaign for former figures of the club to receive more respect. Luis Enrique is still here, and I hope he stays for many more years. When I see the love he shows for this club, build him a statue. What he has brought is incredible. As a Parisian supporter, you can feel the love he has for PSG. He is not someone who came here just for the money. He earns a lot, of course, but he came because he truly believes in the project,” Rothen explained.
For the former French international, the Spanish manager has done far more than collect trophies. He has instilled a strong identity and a winning culture that the club had sometimes lacked in previous years. While no statue is actually planned at the Parc des Princes, Luis Enrique has already established himself as one of the most influential figures in the history of Paris Saint-Germain.
