Paris Saint-Germain barely has time to celebrate its second consecutive Champions League title before turning its attention to what comes next. The upcoming season is expected to be just as demanding as the last one.
The celebrations are over, and they were spectacular. After Sunday’s festivities in Paris, including a parade, a reception at the Élysée Palace, and a celebration at the Parc des Princes, a large part of the squad will quickly join their national teams for the World Cup.
A Packed Schedule for the European Champions
The summer is also shaping up to be extremely busy for the club’s management. Between contract extensions, new signings, and handling departures, the transfer window is expected to dominate the coming weeks as PSG looks to strengthen a squad that has just conquered Europe.
But the biggest challenge will be on the pitch. Pre-season training is scheduled to begin in mid-July for players not involved in the World Cup, while internationals will return gradually. However, the calendar offers no breathing room for the Parisians.
On August 12, PSG will face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg before taking on Lens a few days later in the Trophée des Champions. Soon after, Ligue 1 will resume, followed by the launch of another Champions League campaign. It is a massive schedule for a PSG side already focused on one objective: winning a third consecutive European crown.
