Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for a summer of transition rather than a complete rebuild. After extending several key players and securing Luis Enrique’s future until 2030, the club mainly wants to fine-tune the squad, increase competition and give the Spanish coach more tactical options. João Neves, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, Senny Mayulu and Ibrahim Mbaye remain central to the project, although Mbaye could leave if a strong offer arrives and regular playing time cannot be guaranteed.
In goal, Matvey Safonov is expected to begin the season as first choice, with Lucas Chevalier determined to stay and challenge him despite a difficult first campaign. In defence, the expected arrival of Lucas Digne would provide cover for Nuno Mendes while allowing Lucas Hernandez to play more regularly at centre-back. Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho and Mendes could remain the preferred back four, with Ilya Zabarnyi, Hernandez and Digne offering experienced alternatives.
A More Flexible and Competitive PSG Squad
Midfield should continue to be built around João Neves, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz, with Warren Zaïre-Emery and Mayulu also playing important roles. One of the biggest tactical surprises could involve Lucas Beraldo, whom Luis Enrique reportedly sees as a possible defensive midfielder because of his passing ability and composure under pressure. Further forward, Maghnes Akliouche remains a major target, while Yan Diomandé, Ferran Torres and Eli Junior Kroupi are also being considered to strengthen an attack already featuring Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué.

Barcola is expected to remain a major figure despite interest from Bayern Munich and Liverpool, while Randal Kolo Muani and Renato Sanches are being pushed towards the exit. PSG want around €50 million to €55 million for Kolo Muani, who remains a priority for Juventus. Their departures would reduce the wage bill and provide additional funds for new signings.
In a 4-3-3 formation, PSG could line up with Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; João Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia and Doué. Barcola, Akliouche, Zaïre-Emery and Digne would remain close to the starting XI, while Ferran Torres could offer another versatile attacking option. Rather than collecting stars, PSG now want a coherent, technical and interchangeable squad capable of pressing aggressively, dominating possession and becoming even more unpredictable under Luis Enrique.
