Paris Saint-Germain have secured the future of Fabian Ruiz. According to Fabrice Hawkins, the Spanish midfielder has signed a one-year contract extension, with an additional optional year included in the agreement.
Fabian Ruiz is not expected to leave PSG. The former Napoli midfielder is now set to remain under contract until June 2028, with the possibility of extending his stay until 2029. The agreement was reportedly reached several weeks ago, and only the club’s official announcement is still pending.
PSG Close the Door on Midfield Reinforcements
This extension confirms the club’s strategy for its midfield. Since Senny Mayulu signed his new contract, PSG have reportedly decided not to recruit another midfielder during this summer transfer window. According to Djamel, a new arrival would only be considered if a current midfielder leaves the squad. Luis Enrique is therefore expected to begin the new season with the players already at his disposal.
Fabian Ruiz remains an important part of the Spanish coach’s plans thanks to his technical ability, experience and versatility. Meanwhile, Ayyoub Bouaddi, despite being highly rated by PSG, was never considered a concrete target for this summer and is now expected to continue his career in the Premier League, where several clubs are monitoring him. With the extensions of Fabian Ruiz and Senny Mayulu, as well as Lucas Beraldo’s promotion into midfield, PSG have opted for continuity. Unless there is an unexpected departure, the club’s remaining transfer activity should focus on other areas of the squad.
