Jules Koundé’s name has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain. Open to a new challenge this summer, the FC Barcelona defender could leave Catalonia if a sufficiently attractive offer arrives. However, despite his versatile profile, a move to Paris remains difficult to envisage.
Koundé is reportedly unlikely to remain at Barcelona next season, with the Catalan club looking to recruit Pedro Porro following his impressive World Cup campaign. According to PSG Inside Actus, the France international’s representatives have informed several clubs that he could be available, while Barça may be willing to negotiate for the right price.
PSG Are Looking for a Right-Back
Koundé’s profile could logically appeal to PSG. The French champions are searching for a defender capable of playing on the right to provide competition and cover for Achraf Hakimi. The 27-year-old can also operate in central defence, offering Luis Enrique additional tactical flexibility.

The main obstacle, however, concerns his potential role. Koundé appears unlikely to accept being merely Hakimi’s understudy, as the Morocco international remains one of Luis Enrique’s key players and an almost automatic starter in major matches.
Under these circumstances, concrete progress between PSG and Koundé seems unlikely. Paris no longer want to collect high-profile names without guaranteeing them an important place in the sporting project. Unless a major player leaves or Koundé changes his position regarding his role, the defender may be available on the market without becoming a genuine PSG priority.
