PSG do not intend to open the door for Lucas Beraldo. While the Brazilian defender could attract interest on the transfer market, the Parisian club sees him as a non-negotiable part of its project.
Luis Enrique likes adaptable players. And Lucas Beraldo is one of them. Brought to Paris mainly to play as a centre-back, the Brazilian could nevertheless see his role evolve under Luis Enrique. According to Bruno Andrade of ESPN Brasil, the current trend is for Beraldo to stay at PSG, with his use as a defensive midfielder being increasingly considered.
Luis Enrique Sees Beraldo in Midfield
The Spanish coach is said to particularly appreciate Beraldo’s passing quality, composure and tactical intelligence. These traits could allow him to play in front of the defence, in a more central and strategic role than that of a simple centre-back.
This idea is not insignificant. Luis Enrique likes profiles capable of breaking lines with passes, covering several zones and providing an additional solution in build-up play. In that area, Beraldo has qualities that could appeal to the Parisian staff.
PSG’s message therefore seems clear: Beraldo is not on the market despite the many sale rumours that have circulated for months. The Brazilian remains considered an important player for the future, and his potential repositioning in midfield could even give him a new dimension within the squad. In Paris, versatility has become an essential criterion. And in Luis Enrique’s mind, Beraldo could well be more than a centre-back: a true system player, capable of establishing himself permanently in PSG’s rotation.
