AS Monaco already seem to be anticipating a possible departure for Maghnes Akliouche. While the Monegasque attacking midfielder remains on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar, the Principality club have reportedly activated a Ligue 1 lead to avoid being caught off guard during this transfer window.
Maghnes Akliouche to PSG now looks imminent. According to Santi Aouna and Sébastien Denis of Foot Mercato, Monaco have opened talks with OGC Nice for Mohamed-Ali Cho. The deal is said to be moving in a positive direction between the different parties, with a transfer that could exceed €10 million. The player has reportedly already given his approval to join ASM.
Mohamed-Ali Cho lined up as Akliouche’s replacement?
Monaco’s logic appears clear: prepare for the future in case Maghnes Akliouche is sold. Highly rated on the market, especially by PSG, the 23-year-old could bring in a significant fee for Monaco if he leaves this summer. In that context, the interest in Mohamed-Ali Cho looks like a genuine succession plan.
At 22, Mohamed-Ali Cho offers an interesting attacking profile. Fast, direct and capable of playing in several positions across the front line, the OGC Nice winger fits the type of player Monaco like to develop. His arrival would allow ASM to strengthen their attack while preparing for a potential major departure.
From PSG’s perspective, this move will inevitably be followed closely. If Monaco really accelerate for Mohamed-Ali Cho, it could be seen as a signal in the Akliouche case. Paris remain attentive, but they will still have to convince ASM, who have no intention of selling one of their best talents on the cheap.
