Désiré Doué wants to join PSG: his club, Rennes, is open to the idea.

Désiré Doué is pushing hard. The 19-year-old midfielder, under contract with Stade Rennais until 2026 and a French youth international, is signaling his interest in PSG and is pushing for a transfer.

However, his club, Rennes, is not making it easy. In interviews with L’Equipe and Ouest-France, Stade Rennais president Olivier Cloarec discussed a possible transfer: it’s not impossible, but it will require a significant fee.

Is Désiré Doué’s departure inevitable? “We know he has been followed by the biggest European clubs since he was very young; this won’t change this summer, we will see based on the offers,” stated the Rennes president.

The Breton club won’t be playing in Europe, leading to a significant financial shortfall that might prompt sales during this transfer window. “Without Europe, the budget (110 million euros) is automatically reduced? Yes. However, the club has been well-managed for a long time and has never acted recklessly. We know we will have a budget reduction, but that doesn’t mean we will be less competitive. There will be sales and investments. We will be there,” Cloarec explained.
