Lucas Chevalier’s future at Paris Saint-Germain remains highly uncertain. Demoted behind Matvei Safonov in the goalkeeping hierarchy this season, the French goalkeeper is still waiting to learn the club’s plans before making a decision about his next move.
Chevalier is unlikely to stay at PSG. The Parisian coaching staff are expected to place their trust in Safonov as the number one goalkeeper next season, meaning the French shot-stopper could be on his way out. Several clubs have already taken notice of the situation. According to L’Équipe, Besiktas have positioned themselves to try to sign the former Lille goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
Premier League Interest Growing
The Istanbul-based club appreciates the profile of the 24-year-old French international, but competition for his signature is expected to be intense. If he leaves PSG, Chevalier would reportedly prefer a more ambitious sporting project in order to maintain his chances of remaining part of the French national team setup.
One of the most serious options is Tottenham. The London club have been monitoring the situation for several months and could make a move if the goalkeeper’s circumstances in Paris do not improve. In Ligue 1, Rennes are also keeping a close eye on the PSG keeper.
Still under contract with PSG, Chevalier has several weeks left to make his decision. One thing is certain: despite his status as a backup goalkeeper, he is already attracting significant interest from clubs across Europe.
