PSG continue to narrow down their attacking targets. After dropping their interest in Aleksey Batrakov, the Parisian club have also decided to close the door on Eli Junior Kroupi.
Could Barcelona end up signing a player rejected by PSG? Eli Junior Kroupi may well be heading to Catalonia. Highly rated by scouts, the 19-year-old French striker enjoyed a promising season with AFC Bournemouth, scoring 13 Premier League goals. However, the asking price set by the English club has discouraged potential buyers, with Bournemouth reportedly demanding at least €100 million to even begin transfer discussions.
Barcelona Eyeing Kroupi as Lewandowski’s Heir
PSG consider that valuation far too high and have chosen to move on despite the youngster’s enormous potential. Luis Campos is now focusing on other targets, including Yan Diomandé and, above all, Maghnes Akliouche.
That does not mean Kroupi’s future will not be at a major European club. According to reports in Spain, FC Barcelona are closely monitoring the French forward as they prepare for life after Robert Lewandowski.
Barcelona still dream of signing Julián Álvarez, but with that deal proving extremely difficult, sporting director Deco has reportedly placed Kroupi among his leading alternatives. The main obstacle remains Bournemouth’s €100 million valuation, a figure that has already driven PSG away and could also seriously complicate Barcelona’s plans.
