Gabriel Moscardo is moving even further away from PSG. Signed from Corinthians in January 2024 for around €20 million, the Brazilian midfielder has still not played a single minute for the Paris first team.
Gabriel Moscardo will not play for PSG this season. And perhaps never will. It is a brutal reality for a player who was presented as one of the club’s major South American bets.
Another Loan Move for Gabriel Moscardo
Since his arrival, Moscardo has gone from loan to loan. First sent to Stade de Reims, where he played only ten matches without really establishing himself, he then moved to SC Braga. In Portugal, the Brazilian got more game time, making 39 appearances and reaching a Europa League semi-final.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Gabriel Moscardo is now very close to joining Espanyol Barcelona on loan. Talks between Paris and the Catalan club are reportedly progressing well, and the deal is said to be almost complete.
For Gabriel Moscardo, this would already be his fourth league after Brazil, France and Portugal. It is a surprising path for a player still under contract with PSG until 2028 and who is only 20 years old. Paris is therefore continuing to manage his development from a distance. But as time goes by, one question becomes more pressing: does Gabriel Moscardo really have a future at PSG, or will he remain one of those talents bought for a high price without ever having worn the Paris shirt in an official match?
