Ferran Torres’ future is shaping up to be one of the major transfer sagas of the summer 2026 window, with Paris Saint-Germain now facing significant competition for his signature.
After an impressive season with FC Barcelona, scoring 16 goals in 33 La Liga appearances, the 26-year-old forward finds himself at a crossroads with just one year remaining on his contract in Catalonia. Although Barça have offered him an extension, Torres would reportedly prefer to leave and begin a new chapter in his career.
Atlético Madrid Challenge PSG for Ferran Torres
While advanced talks had already taken place with PSG, Atlético Madrid have now disrupted the French club’s plans. According to Radio Marca, the Spanish side are particularly interested in the Spain international. Unlike at PSG, where a starting role would not be guaranteed among Luis Enrique’s attacking stars, Atlético are prepared to offer Torres a central role and a prominent place in their starting line-up.
Atlético’s interest could also benefit Barcelona. Valued at €50 million by the Catalan club, Torres could become a valuable bargaining chip in negotiations between the two Spanish clubs.
Barcelona are reportedly dreaming of signing Atlético striker Julián Álvarez. Including Torres in a potential deal for the former Manchester City forward could significantly reduce the transfer fee required while also helping Barça complete a major operation within financial fair play restrictions.
