Ayyoub Bouaddi’s transfer saga is gathering serious momentum. Manchester City are now pushing hard to sign the highly-rated Lille midfielder and are considered among the leading contenders to secure his signature during the summer transfer window.
According to David Ornstein, City are eager to move quickly on the deal. While Paris Saint-Germain have often been linked with the teenager due to his impressive development, the French champions are reportedly no longer in the race.
Manchester City Ready to Invest in Bouaddi
Several clubs would be willing to sign Bouaddi before loaning him back to Lille for another season, allowing him to continue his development in Ligue 1. Manchester City, however, have different plans, with Pep Guardiola’s side hoping to integrate the midfielder directly into the first-team squad without another loan spell.
Despite his young age, Bouaddi is already regarded as one of Europe’s brightest midfield prospects thanks to his maturity, technical ability, and composure under pressure. Lille are expected to demand around €100 million for his transfer. While that fee is substantial, it is unlikely to deter Manchester City, who have the financial resources to complete the deal. PSG, meanwhile, are not expected to make a move, believing their midfield is already complete following Fabian Ruiz’s contract extension until 2028, with an option for an extra year, and Senny Mayulu’s renewal.
